CPS Case Study snapshot

A City-Wide Proof of Concept

In response to widespread concerns about elevated lead in school drinking water, Chicago Public Schools launched a district-wide pilot to find a scalable, cost-effective solution. Noah was installed in three schools—Von Steuben, Orr, and Onahan—to evaluate how auto-flushing could reduce lead levels safely and reliably.

1

Challenge

After discovering high lead levels across dozens of CPS buildings, the district needed a way to keep water safe without costly construction or constant manual flushing.

2

Solution

Noah's automated flushing system was installed on drinking fountains across three schools, with independent validation by Loyola University Chicago to track performance and safety.

3

Result

  • Lead levels dropped to non-detectable in all three schools.
  • Even with stagnation, levels remained well below EPA thresholds.
  • CPS became a proof point for Noah’s scalability in complex environments.

Michael [Ramos] has solved the lead problem in public schools—not just in Chicago, but nationwide.
