Remediation Project: June 2019
30 Noah Devices Installed
6 Buildings
Integrated Noah + New Fixtures Across Multiple Schools
In June 2019, voluntary water testing by Crete Monee School District revealed lead levels up to 90 times higher than the EPA’s 15 ppb action limit—confirming the community’s worst fears following nearby contamination reports in University Park. The district responded immediately by shutting down drinking fountains and suspending water access across its buildings to prevent further exposure.
Lead exposure is especially dangerous for children under 18. With growing concern from parents and the public—and mounting legal liability—the District needed a fast, permanent solution.
District officials quickly approved a full fixture replacement plan, swapping out outdated water fountains. But as they reviewed research and consulted with experts, they discovered that fixture replacement alone wouldn't eliminate the threat—lead was still present in the pipes and service lines.
That’s when they found Noah System.
After learning about Noah’s auto-flushing technology, which had already reduced lead to undetectable levels in other schools, the District added Noah devices to newly installed fountains—creating a layered approach to water safety.
The outcome was immediate and conclusive.
Noah validated what the research had shown: automated flushing was essential for keeping water moving, maintaining corrosion control protection, and preventing lead from leaching into stagnant water. The combination of new fixtures and Noah’s smart flushing technology eliminated lead at the source.
